1…2…3-Strikes You’re Out At the Old Ball Game

Baseball season is wrapping up in Big D and everyone is HOT right now for the rangers. So when Walker Texas Ranger (the name I’ll use for him) asked me to go with him to the first playoff game against Tampa, I was in….who doesn’t love the Rangers and hotdogs?!?!?! Did I mention this was a playoff game?? :)

So, Walker is your typical oil and gas man….cocky, good-old boy charm, and a mouth that runs faster than a fast ball. The kid has no filter. So during casual conversation, it didn’t take long for me to see that as I brought up a new conversation to bat, he was striking out!

Strike One: His disclosure that his last two girlfriends were Dallas cowboy cheerleaders. Talking about ex’s is a no, but talking about exes who look exactly opposite of me….Need I say more.

Strike Two: Some how my involvement in book club got brought up. His response: “You’re in a book club? Only woman who are in their 40’s and president of PTAs should be in a book club”.  Guess those cheerleaders weren’t into reading….

Strike Three: He brings up my fair skin. Yes, I know…I am white! But seriously?!?! Do you need to bring that up!?!?!

Maybe Walker Texas Ranger needs to change his sport…..he STRIKES OUT with this girl. Lucky for him, Cowboy stadium is down the road where there are plenty of tan, non-book club reader girls who love to cheer.

Xo- Jo

PS: In honor of breast cancer month, I posted a picture for Walker. This is how the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders celebrate Breast Cancer. Enjoy!

  2. He just doesn't understand the finer things in life. There will come a time when he will want to have a decent conversation with his partner & reading books definitely helps the intelect. Also, just think your "fair skin" won't be all wrinkled and look like leather when you are in your 40s - nor will your ovaries be shriveled up like raisins.
